The Experience

Join us for a trip on the world famous Cowichan river. The Cowichan is a premier trout river but also boasts an excellent run of Coho salmon in the fall and a steelhead run in the winter.

Drifting through coastal temperate rainforest you'll fish for rainbow trout, brown trout and cutthroat trout often catching all three species on the same day! One of the only places in British Columbia to have a significant brown trout population, the Cowichan is a unique fishery with opportunities to target them with nymphs, streamers, and dry flies depending on the season. The Rainbow trout in the Cowichan are extremely abundant and are very aggressive and hard fighting.

In the fall Coho salmon can be targeted specifically or mix your day up by trout fishing in the morning and salmon fishing in the afternoon. Black bear and Roosevelt elk sightings are almost a daily occurrence at this time of year. If you're up for the challenge, we also get a run of winter steelhead which can be targeted mid January to mid March depending on water levels and temperature. Swinging flies with two handed rods is the prefered method but we are willing to customize your trip to suit your wants & needs.

Hearty homemade lunches and any equipment needed are provided for you and all our guides are from the area and are highly experienced in all aspects of fly fishing
